By 'mirror-world disjunction', I am thinking of my own displacements in this settler culture, and what I am drawn to aesthetically in these Ontarian landscapes and visual structures of home: The aesthetics of Toronto and its sprawlzones, as well as those of my other region, in Abitibi Country of Northeastern Ontario (700km north of Lake Ontario) are familiar. Being in Central Europe, was a jolt to a visual sense of the world, both recognizable and strange at the same time, drawing me in and reassuring me with its tarnished Soviet modernism. \\ Par «la disjonction d'un monde-miroir», je pense à mes propres déplacements dans cette culture colonisatrice, et à ce que je suis captivé esthétiquement dans ces paysages ontariens et ces structures visuelles de chez nous: L'esthétique de Toronto et de ses étendues urbaines, ainsi que celles de mon autre région, en Abitibi-ontarien, (700km au nord du lac Ontario) sont familières. En Europe centrale, c'était un choc à mon sens visuel du monde, à la fois reconnaissable, mais étrange en même temps, m'attirant et me rassurant avec son modernisme soviétique dégradé.
